Welcome to gabrielforster.com. I am, of course, Gabriel Forster. Otherwise, the domain name would be really weird, huh? I am an assistant pastor at South Side Baptist Church in Oak Lawn, IL. As an assistant pastor, I wear many hats – including ministering to teens and their families, teaching at South Side Baptist School and being the “IT guy,” which basically means if electricity runs through it (computers, sound systems, etc.) I get to fix it. I design and maintain websites for our ministries as well as other businesses. I do extensive work maintaining our computers at school which run a mixture of Linux, OS X, and Windows.I am a huge advocate of Open-Source software for education and ministry!
So, I guess that is what this site is about – using technology in education (especially music education) and ministry. Sometimes it will be high-tech, other times it will be very low-tech.
